The Beginnings of a Book of Shadows

Awhile back a good friend asked me to make her a special book for all her mysteries and secrets.  I have found the perfect download, took it to Staples and had it laser printed.  Now I am getting ready to start the process of aging paper, making covers and building pages.

I purchased the kit from Screech Owl Studio on Etsy and I love Yvonne’s use of imagery.  The picture below is actually 2 kits, Book of Shadows and Rooks and Ravens.  I am combining the two kits for the first book I am making.

The second book will be from Yvonne’s Celtic Book of Shadows printable kit, I am doing this one in a more shabby chic way.  Lots of bling and lace!  Look at how beautiful these pages are!

Shabby Chic Plaque

I have been working so hard on the programs for mindfulness that my brain finally failed!  I have been researching, writing and planning non stop!  I am so excited to share this program with you.  It still needs a bit of tweaking but I will be posting workshops and descriptions sometime this month!

Needed a huge break and decided to alter an old wooden plaque for my kitchen.  I decided to go with a shabby chic Victorian kitchen the best part is I get to make most of the décor!  I took pictures of the process, I had a lot of fun creating this.  It’s extremely important to me to honour the sacred feminine in my home and this worked out perfectly for me

I used white gesso to create the base then painted again with white acrylic paint.  Then I chose a beautiful printable from etsy, glued it and added lace, bling and a flower.  Here is how it turned out!

then I hung it up in its new place of honour!

My next project is a Book of Shadows, actually 2, lol, I am going to make one in the vintage style and the other shabby chic!  I am doing a review for a super talented artist I found on Etsy and I am using 3 kits I have purchased from her.  Looking forward to sharing the end result!

Mindfulness for Kids of all Ages

I have been putting together some awesome workshops for kids and adults.  Teaching children about mindfulness and meditation at an early can help them deal with stresses, peer pressure and understanding the world around them.

Stay tuned for updates, I am really excited about these programs.  They will be available in my area Sarnia/Lambton in person and I will also be offering some online workshops for parents.

The focus will be heart centered mindfulness and exploring this through creative activities as well as meditation.

I participated in a Kids in the Kitchen day back in February.  The group prepared a healthy snack, participated in a POUND class and I did a salt dough tickle monster with the group.  This little guy was created by McLayne, she was my special helper for the day, assisting the younger kids and handing out materials.  I just love the way her little guy turned out! Super Job!
